this is the first time I’ve seen this meme and I already hate this meme.
I don’t get it. Is it because he’s a nerd?
There’s no link to the original meme, just someone’s Tumblr where they uploaded this themselves I guess so I’m gonna go ahead and assume it’s because he’s a nerd AND/OR Asian.
So 1. Nerds can’t get girls
2. Asian guys can’t get girls
3. Nerdy Asian guys ESPECIALLY can’t get girls
Because 1. Girls are shallow and won’t want the “nice guy” (nice guy as in, an actual nice guy - not the misogynistic kind I’ve posted about before)
2. This guy’s a loser for whatever stereotypical reason above and therefore he has no chance of getting a girl - even for a one night stand - because he’s too lame. The only “night stand” he can have is the kind behind his bed. What lame nerd person would ever be desirable? God forbid a girl want a guy who’s actually kind of intelligent and cares more about conversations or bettering his/her person than ~sexy time~ or whatever it is “normal” people supposedly have that “nerd asians” don’t.
Another way this could be taken is that he is the “legitimate” nice guy, in which case none of the above stereotypes would be in place. This still has issues because it means he is nice partially because his “one night stand” is the kind next to his bed. So this is, again, demonizing sexuality. He’s a nice guy so he doesn’t have one night stands.
GRRR.
(If I’m wrong and this has a totally different meaning than the above, I apologize and the person who made the meme should probably make a meme with a smaller chance of being misconstrued.)
